Mindfulness for improved health and wellbeing. Because life is for living
The Little Breathing Space I provide mindfulness-based one to one programmes, workshops, and practice sessions that can to help you develop techniques and skills that you can build into your daily life.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is being aware of your body, thoughts, and emotions in the present moment. It helps us to learn how to respond differently to stressful situations. Instead of reacting immediately thinking the worst; we learn to stop and come back to our direct experience now.
Mindfulness begins when we start to become aware of our tendency to be on automatic pilot and the impact on our well-being and relationships.
These skills and benefits are achieved through meditations, gentle movement, and habit-breaking techniques. The Mindfulness we teach is secular (non-religious, non-spiritual). We don’t sit cross-legged (unless you want to…. and can!), we sit on chairs, lay down or stand up (whichever is most comfortable for you)…and we don’t chant.
I offer specialist Mindfulness Training in Pain Management:
The Breathworks Mindfulness for Health
If you have chronic pain or illness, it can take over your life. Mindfulness offers natural pain management and helps you to improve your overall wellbeing.
The Mindfulness for Health programme is for anyone who is looking for relief from chronic pain and the suffering and stress of illness. It has been developed by Breathworks, a leading global mindfulness training, and development company. Mindfulness for Health integrates mindfulness, compassion, a supportive mindful movement practice, and practical components from modern pain and medical condition management.
All our programmes are secular (non-religious, non-spiritual) and have been written based on scientific research. They have been carefully developed by Breathworks and have been proven over many years to deliver benefits.
If you think this programme has a chance of increasing your quality of life, we warmly invite you to attend. So far I have welcomed and helped people with conditions such as chronic back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, nervous disorders, MS, and many other conditions
The programme is generally offered as private one to one either in person or via a video link. Occasionally I offer small group training in the Gothenburg area (please contact me for more details)
After you have completed training with me, I provide ongoing support via bi-monthly practice sessions and annual retreats.

The Programme Breakdown:
‘Breathworks Mindfulness Programme:
8 x weekly sessions
Over 8 weeks, you will be shown and encouraged to explore a variety of simple practices, which can be incorporated into daily life, helping you to change how you relate to your experience of pain, suffering, and stress of illness
The programme is deliberately structured so that over the weeks you are able to build up a range of mindfulness skills to help reduce your stress and suffering and generally improve your wellbeing. They include home practice suggestions as a regular practice of mindfulness increases the brain’s ability to repair itself and grow new neural connections.
Through the programme I will show you:
- How to manage pain and illness in daily life.
- How to develop an awareness of any patterns/habits you may have developed which are increasing your suffering and help you to change them improving your overall well-being
This is achieved through Mindfulness meditations, very gentle mindful movement and an understanding of how your thoughts and actions affect your pain and stress.
- We start with an initial 30-minute free session to explore your current situation and to introduce you fully to the programme
- We’ll then meet for 8 x weekly 50-minute sessions
- You’ll also receive custom-designed practices for you to do between sessions including meditations, videos, and reading.
The Benefits of Mindfulness for Pain Management:
Medical research, through clinical trials, has shown that it is more effective to explore the sensations of pain and illness as they rise and fall in your body with mindfulness meditation. It can be more powerful than the most commonly prescribed painkillers – and shown to reduce chronic pain by 57 percent with accomplished meditators being able to reduce it by over 90 percent.MRI studies show that mindfulness soothes the brain patterns underlying pain and, over time, these changes take root and alter the structure of the brain itself, so that patients no longer feel pain with the same intensity. Pain clinics now prescribe mindfulness meditation to help patients cope with a wide range of diseases.
